About Maria

Maria Arcuri RN, BScN, MEd, RNP, has had the pleasure of working in the field of Medicine and Healthcare since she was 14 years old.  Over the last 25 years, she has worked in the fields of medicine, surgery, and anesthesia in hospital, homecare, and clinic. She started her professional career at 14 years of age as a volunteer working bedside at a local hospital.  Her work as a Personal Support Worker started when she was 20 years old, followed by her extensive work as a Registered Nurse and business owner.

She owns and operates medical practices in both western (Ora Dental Nursing) and eastern practices (Maria Medica).  She is a published medical writer and has delivered many medical lectures throughout the United States and Canada as a Clinical Educator.

She carries a Bachelor of Science Degree (in Nursing) and a Master Degree of Adult Education, both obtained in Canada.  She obtained her education and Certification in Ayurveda Medicine from Kerala, India and is completing her certification as a Certified Community Herbalist, obtaining her education from British Columbia, Canada.  She is also a certified First Degree Reiki Energy Worker.

When Maria experienced her own medical health issues pertaining to central nervous system dysregulation from stress and burnout, she found herself learning and self-healing through non-conventional medical methods and practices.  That is when her career began in the field of eastern and natural medicine, spending several years healing herself while simultaneously studying different modalities within different programs worldwide.  Her methods have been tested and true - for both mind and body.

She holds memberships with several medical associations including the Ayurveda Association of Canada and is a member of The Examining Board of Natural Medicine Practitioners of Canada where she holds a registration as a Registered Naturotherapy Practitioner.

Yoga was one form of 'medicine' that Maria leaned on to help her through her medical challenges.  The power of yoga inspired Maria to study Yoga movement in the Amazon jungle of Peru.  She also studied the Polyvagal Theory in Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery with Dr. Arielle Schwartz, leading classes of all abilities and ages with embodiment strategies for trauma recovery, emotional health, and physical vitality.

She provides her treatments and classes in her beautiful home in Singhampton, Ontario just South of Collingwood, which has been displayed in several architectural magazines.  Not one person has entered her home without mentioning 'the beautiful energy' that they feel. Her home is a place of healing and of nourishment for those who visit.

Maria lives, grows and practices on her 5-acre property and healing garden where she cultivates her own wildflower meadow and food/medicinal herb garden where she has used her herbs and the herbs of reputable sources grow her home Apothecary and treatment centre which she has helped to heal the minds and bodies of herself and others.
